During a crisis, whatever the origin, time is constantly working against us.
With the recent increase in the terrorist alert level or natural disasters it was no exaggeration to prepare for the worst-case scenario. But we must admit that most of us didn’t anticipate the major disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Some organizations had identified contamination (such as pandemic or major disease) in their risk registers but without too much attention given its very unlikely condition, whereas other organizations hadn’t considered it at all. Obviously, something important that we learn today is that impact displaced likelihood during major disruptive events.
